Relational Life Institute, Inc. (RLI, we, us or our) operates relationallife.com and terryreal.com. TerryReal.com is not a separate company or data controller.
This is our shared policy for visitors worldwide to RLI-operated websites and services that link to it. These include relationallife.com, terryreal.com and their RLI-operated subdomains: our Directory, Quiz, Grid, Summit, campaign and workshop pages, and learning or member services. It includes the map.relationallife.com redirect to our Directory. Technologies differ between websites and features; a provider listed here is not necessarily used on every page. A separate notice applies where a service expressly provides one.
It also explains how website tracking relates to our forms and RLI purchases made through ThriveCart. ThriveCart and payment providers have their own technologies and privacy information, as explained below. This policy does not replace their notices or describe the independent practices of therapists listed in the Directory.
Our address is Relational Life Institute, Inc., 291 Nahanton Street, Newton, Massachusetts 02459, United States. Contact us at support@relationallife.com.
Read this policy alongside our Website and Services Privacy Notice, which explains our wider use of personal information, retention, international transfers and your rights.
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. First-party cookies use the domain of the website you visit; third-party cookies use another domain. First-party does not necessarily mean necessary or exempt from consent.
We also use browser local storage and session storage, tracking pixels, scripts and server-side connections. Some tools read browser or device information without setting a conventional cookie. Campaign information or identifiers can also be included in links and form fields. A technology is not automatically outside privacy rules because it is described as cookieless, first-party or server-side.
Depending on the tool, information can include the page visited, referring website, campaign labels, click or visitor identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, time of a visit, and an action such as a registration or purchase. An identifier can be personal information even if it does not contain your name.
Where we use CookieYes, the banner offers Accept All, Reject All and Customise. Customise lets you choose the optional categories shown for that site. Reject All refuses optional categories; it does not switch off technologies needed to deliver or protect a service you request. Necessary technologies cannot be switched off through that preference tool.
On services using our CookieYes consent controls, optional analytics and advertising technologies controlled by those settings are held back until you choose the relevant category. Simply browsing, scrolling, clicking Buy or leaving the banner unanswered does not give consent. Consent to analytics does not by itself give consent to advertising. Technologies and available controls vary by service; publication of this shared policy does not extend one website’s controls to every other website or checkout.
Where CookieYes is available, you can change or withdraw your choices through its revisit control, labelled Consent Preferences or shown as the cookie-preferences icon on the site. Open it, change your selections and save them, or select Reject All. This stops future optional browser tracking controlled by those choices. It does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful or automatically erase records we must keep for another lawful purpose. For requests about information already received, connected systems, or a service without a preference control, contact support@relationallife.com and see our Privacy Notice.
Cookie choices relate to the browser and device you use. CookieYes can recognise choices across subdomains of the same main domain where sharing is configured. Do not assume that a choice on terryreal.com applies to relationallife.com, a different browser, or a ThriveCart checkout. Check the controls on the destination site. Clearing browser data can remove your saved choice and cause the banner to appear again.
Your browser can also block or delete cookies and other site data. Some third-party cookies can only be removed through the browser or the relevant provider’s controls. Blocking necessary technologies may interfere with login, forms, security checks or payment functions. Contact support@relationallife.com if you cannot access the cookie controls or a service you need.
This cookie-policy page and the linked privacy-notice page are provided without optional website trackers. To change a choice, use the preference control on the service where you made it.
These technologies remember your privacy choices, maintain requested form or login sessions, support core website functions, and protect services against abuse. CookieYes records cookie choices. Cloudflare provides hosting-related security and, on the Directory contact form, Turnstile protection. WordPress, Elementor and the Directory’s JetPopup component use browser state for website or requested contact-form functions. Ontraport form-session technology is separate from its marketing-tracking technology.
Necessary status depends on the actual purpose. It does not cover all activity by a payment, form, security or hosting provider, and it does not make that provider’s advertising or analytics necessary.
Optional functional technologies support particular features or embedded services. For example, the Terry Real CookieYes catalogue lists Google reCAPTCHA browser storage in the Functional category. The choices and information displayed for the particular feature explain what is being requested. A feature’s optional tracking is not made necessary simply because it is bundled with that feature.
Analytics tools help us understand page visits, interactions, traffic sources and how different page versions perform. Depending on the website, these include PostHog, Google Analytics, Amplitude, Plausible, Mida and Split Test for Elementor. The Terry Real catalogue also includes Hotjar, PixelYourSite and Sourcebuster entries for the pages on which those tools are used.
PostHog provides page and product-usage measurement. Mida supports website experiments and can load FingerprintJS or BotD to read browser and device signals. These are separate activities from accepting a form submission or processing a payment. Optional analytics tools covered by the Analytics category require that category to be accepted in our consent-based configuration.
Advertising technologies help connect visits and actions to campaigns, measure advertisements and, where enabled, support personalised advertising or advertising-platform optimisation. They include AnyTrack, Meta Pixel and Conversions API, Google advertising tags, TikTok Pixel, Ontraport visitor tracking, HandL UTM or UTM Simple, and RLI’s own attribution identifiers and tracking connections.
AnyTrack can connect a website visit with a registration or purchase. Campaign information and conversion events can be sent through integrations to our reporting systems and configured advertising destinations. Meta, Google or other configured destinations may receive conversion details and matching information, such as browser or click identifiers and, where enabled and permitted, hashed contact information. Hashing does not make that information anonymous.
Advertising use remains subject to the relevant consent and opt-out requirements. A server-side connection or an order notification is not a substitute for advertising permission.
Google Tag Manager helps load other tools; each tool’s purpose determines the choices it requires. Google Consent Mode communicates consent settings to supported Google tags. It does not itself grant consent or guarantee that every tag or integration honours a choice.
Google BigQuery is used for internal reporting, including campaign and operational lead or purchase information received through our integrations. BigQuery is a backend reporting service, not a cookie category. Information in a report remains subject to the rules that apply to its collection and use.
Rejecting optional cookies does not withdraw a request you make to register, contact us or buy something. We still need to process the information you submit and the relevant service or transaction records to fulfil that request. This can include using Ontraport, ThriveCart and connected operational systems. Marketing email and text-message choices are separate from cookie choices.
UTM parameters are campaign labels in a web address, such as the source, medium and campaign name. Attribution tools can retain these labels or pass them through a link or form to a lead or purchase record. Other link parameters may contain identifiers rather than general campaign labels. We use this information to understand which campaigns lead to registrations and purchases, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
Rejecting optional tracking can prevent a visit, lead or purchase from being linked to its campaign even when the operational record still exists. Previously retained information and new tracking are not the same thing. This policy does not treat rejection as permission to create a replacement advertising identifier, reconstruct a person’s journey or forward conversions to advertising platforms without the required permission.
When a Buy link opens a checkout at terryreal.thrivecart.com, the checkout is on a different domain. ThriveCart, Stripe and PayPal may use technologies for checkout sessions, payments, fraud prevention and related services. Optional checkout tracking needs its own applicable controls. Please review the privacy information and cookie choices shown at checkout as well as this policy. RLI remains responsible for tracking and integrations that it chooses to use; hosting the checkout elsewhere does not remove that responsibility.
The detailed CookieYes list available through Customise or Consent Preferences identifies the cookies recorded for the relevant property, their purposes and durations. Read that list alongside this policy. Because some subdomains share a catalogue, it may contain entries that do not run on the particular page you are viewing.
A session cookie normally lasts for a browsing session. Session storage belongs to a browser tab’s session. Persistent cookies have a configured expiry; some tools renew them when used again. Browser settings may shorten these periods. Local storage has no automatic browser expiry and can remain until removed by the site, the tool or you.
The principal cookie and storage families in our catalogues and recorded implementation checks are summarised in the technology schedule below. An asterisk in a name represents a variable suffix. Cookie lifetimes describe browser storage, not the retention period of information already received by a server. The schedule describes technology and locations, not a promise that every listed technology is active on every visit.
CookieYes normally remembers the browser’s choice for one year. Consent evidence can include a pseudonymous consent identifier, the time and choices recorded, and information about the banner used. CookieYes also describes masked IP information in its consent evidence. We retain consent evidence while we rely on it and only as long afterwards as necessary to demonstrate compliance or resolve an active complaint or claim, with periodic necessity reviews followed by deletion or irreversible anonymisation.
On quiz.terryreal.com/quiz/, we also count explicit consent decisions in a separate first-party aggregate. It records only date, hostname, the normalised /quiz/ path, accepted/rejected/partial choice and a count, with a 90-day retention limit. The aggregate contains no visitor or consent identifiers, emails, IP addresses, user agents, referrers or query parameters. It counts decisions, not unique people. Ordinary hosting and security logs are separate and are covered by our Privacy Notice.
Where applicable law provides a right to opt out of sale, sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, or targeted advertising, you can exercise that right through the relevant privacy controls or contact support@relationallife.com. Advertising disclosures may fall within those legal definitions even where no money changes hands. Where required by applicable law, a recognised opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control must be respected. These rights are not limited to deleting browser cookies.
For wider information about recipients, international transfers, retention, access and deletion rights, and complaints, see our Website and Services Privacy Notice. Our Privacy Lead is Faye Williams. Our UK representative is James Cox and our EEA representative is Vadim Fink, based in Spain. You can reach us about this policy or these representatives at support@relationallife.com.
We update this policy and the technology information when relevant practices change. Where a new purpose requires fresh consent, an earlier acceptance is not treated as permission for that new purpose.
These are site-specific entries from our published catalogues and implementation checks. A shared catalogue can include technologies not used on the page you are viewing. Durations can be renewed by use, shortened by browser restrictions, or ended when you clear site data. “Until cleared or replaced” means local storage has no automatic browser expiry.
