What is the Relationship Bootcamp Training?

This 3-day interactive training will teach you all you need to know to expertly lead two-day Relationship Bootcamps and work effectively with participants.

Guided by the RLI faculty, you’ll access the most up-to-date thinking around the RLT model and relational skills with a strong focus on practical work to accelerate your learning.

The faculty and your fellow group members will act as participants and observers to provide you with specific, personalized feedback.

This training also allows you to practice co-facilitating with other practitioners (many Bootcamp facilitators choose to work in this way). And, as you observe your peers, you’ll also gain fresh perspectives from how they approach these workshops.

How Is It Structured?

You will work in small groups of 5 to each deliver a portion of a Relationship Bootcamp. (You will receive a video and transcript of one of our Bootcamps and presentation slides to support this).

The faculty and your fellow group members will act as participants and observers to provide you with specific, personalized feedback. You will learn how to effectively lead the Bootcamps with the most up-to-date RLT principles and respond to any questions from participants.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the 3-day training?

All training will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn Tech Center, 7675 E Union Ave, Denver, CO 80237.

Will Terry Real be there?

Yes—Terry will join us on the afternoon of the final day to share his wisdom on working with bootcamp participants (including micro-coaching, containment, self-management, etc.) and he will also be at the cocktail reception after.

What qualifications do I need to attend?

The Relationship Bootcamp training is exclusively open to certified RLT practitioners and current students of our certification program who have attended a Relationship Bootcamp themselves.

Is there any pre-training study required?

While there is no official pre-training study, you will have immediate access to Terry’s relational skills course, Staying in Love: The Art of Fierce Intimacy, to refresh your understanding. You will also receive a recording of a Relationship Bootcamp to support your presentations, plus a list of optional recommended reading around Terry’s work and RLT to deepen your understanding closer to the event.

Do I need to bring any presentation materials or equipment?

The hotel has screens and a table with power plug-ins, but your team will need to have a computer and projector to run the slides (once your group has been assigned, if none of you has a projector, let us know, and we will see if we can find one for you).

How will I know if I pass the training?

While there is no official assessment, attendance does not automatically guarantee approval to run Relationship Bootcamps. Faculty members will provide feedback on presentations, and if they note areas where there is a need for significant improvement, coaching will be offered (at the participant’s expense). Because people are working in groups, we expect the presentations to be practiced and smooth between you, but we reserve the right to ask for further training if necessary.

Do I need to arrange my own accommodation?

The hotel confirmed a rate of $139/night with included breakfast and parking. We will send you a hotel booking link at the rate mentioned by the end of January (the hotel just had a change in ownership and needs a few days).
